Alessio is above all afraid of retaliation but he is a frequent visitor to the nightlife squares: in particular, Piazza dell’Immacolata in San Lorenzo. He is 21 years old, attends the medical school and has lived in Piazza Bologna since 2017.
What happens in the squares?
“Compared to the period before Covid, the nightlife has changed completely. Drugs are always around: but before they were consumed only by a small percentage of young people, now everyone takes them. It becomes an amplifier of violence and everyone loses their inhibitions. A small spark, even a trivial one, is enough to unleash the uproar. Suddenly bottles start flying. Often, instead of armed with a knife, they face each other by threatening to use the pieces of glass ».
Who are these violent subjects?
“I can only say that their bodies are full of tattoos: they are the ones selling the drugs. They force you to buy it and harass the girls in the groups ».
