Lombardy, no cases of Indian variant sequenced
In Lombardy, no case of an Indian variant of the Coronavirus has yet been sequenced: this can be seen from the data presented today in the Regional Council by the vice president and councilor for Welfare, Letizia Moratti, in response to a question from the councilor of the 5 Star Movement, Gregorio Mammì . According to Letizia Moratti, in fact, the Lombardia have been sequential 5,423 cases of the English variant, 33 cases of the South American variant, 50 cases of the Japanese variant and 34 of the Nigerian variant. 185 cases were then identified relating to other variants, which for the Welfare DG are not of scientific interest and, in any case, not attributable to the Indian variant. Letizia Moratti then explained that “Italy is behind with genotyping”.
