He attempted to board a flight to Malpensa despite being positive for Sars-CoV-2. For this reason, a 45-year-old doctor from Reggio Calabria was reported. It happened in Lamezia Terme where the men of the airport’s air border police accused the man of violating health regulations and providing false declarations to public authorities. It all began on 27 April when the doctor, who tested positive for the molecular swab he had undergone in Reggio, contacted by the Crisis Unit, declared that he was already in Milan, where he had arrived on a flight taken the same day.
The crisis unit then contacted the airline and the Lamezia Polaria. The latter discovered, however, that the 45-year-old not only had not left on the same day as he had reported, but was about to board the 21:30 flight to Malpensa. The agents then tracked him down in the domestic departure lounge, preventing him from boarding the plane, and warned him to go to his home, in the province of Reggio, where he could observe home isolation.
