In the street with his tongue cut out, a man is rescued in Rome

A man was rescued during the night on the street in Rome with a wound to his tongue, which was partially cut. It all started with a call to 112 in which the man, a forty-year-old Belgian, said he was near the bed and breakfast where he was staying, in the Trastevere area, with his tongue cut out. The carabinieri, alerted the 118 health workers who gave the first treatment to the man, intervened on the spot, finding the missing piece of language in the minibar of the man’s room.

In the room there was a friend of the man, also a Belgian. The two would have provided conflicting versions so far and investigations by the carabinieri are underway to reconstruct the dynamics of the facts. The forty-year-old, transported to hospital, underwent surgery.
