Project includes history, six selected museums and 30 works

(ANSA) – MILAN, 03 DEC – The Sforzesco Castle in Milan becomes more accessible thanks to the “Museum for all.

Museum accessibility for people with intellectual disabilities “created in 2015 by the L’ability association, in collaboration and with the support of the De Agostini Foundation.

Created to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities, the project has a network of 28 museums / cultural sites throughout the country, including the FAI properties. Presented today, on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the guide to the Castello Sforzesco allows the visitor to live an inclusive experience inside the museum and the monument.

Thanks to the guide, in fact, the visitor with intellectual disabilities can enjoy the visit independently or with his companion, without stress and together with other visitors. The Castle and its history, six selected Museums and the description of thirty works from the collections are collected in the guide consisting of pedagogical tools: a social guide on the practical and organizational aspects of the visit, descriptive cards and in-depth boxes.

“A city that makes art accessible to all – declare municipal councilors Tommaso Sacchi (Culture) and Lamberto Bertolé (Welfare and Health) – is a more civilized city, in which culture is considered an essential part of citizens’ life and growth engine of the entire community. The new guide ‘Museum for all’ and the objective it proposes represent for us an important contribution towards the Milan we have in mind: open, inclusive and supportive. So much work to be done, but we want to be at the forefront on the issue of equal opportunities and we are ready to commit ourselves and do more for an ever more accessible Milan “. (HANDLE).
