On the sidelines of the presentation of the winter season of the Ravello Festival – which took place in the Sala De Sanctis of Palazzo Santa Lucia – the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca tackled the knot of festivities in the square on the occasion of December 31st: “The parties in the square on New Year’s Eve? I am sincerely of the opinion that it is better to avoid the occasions of spreading the contagion ». Then he adds: “Of course, you can also make a different kind of evaluation, say that the parties in the square serve to limit the parties indoors, but perhaps we would have both the parties in the square and those indoors, also because I wonder who will be in able to carry out checks on the night of December 31st. It is quite evident that it is not possible to control, I would not want us to pay a heavy price for an occasion, a party. in the next months”. And he concludes: “I believe that today it is good to rely on the assessments and the sense of responsibility that the individual administrations will have to make, except for a dramatic contagion emergency, in that case I am ready to issue the ordinances”.
The president of the Region also lights a beacon on the issue of the vaccination campaign aimed at children aged between 5 and 11 years – approved by both the EMA and the Italian Medicines Agency – and comments: “This will be a step as delicate as it is essential to be able to return to normal life in schools and more generally in society and the economy ». De Luca recalls that the first meeting of the Crisis Unit will take place today to begin evaluating the organizational aspects: “We must have dedicated places for the vaccination of children also in the current vaccination centers”, and he adds: “I would like to set up places specifically dedicated to the younger population with the presence of pediatricians”. De Luca’s idea also consists in extending the vaccine administration within schools and using the ordinary vaccination, which is done in the districts, to also carry out the anti-Covid vaccination.
