Sweepstakes checks throughout Italy coordinated by the Customs Agency: almost 500 businesses subjected to verification, 25 commercial premises without authorization uncovered

Maxi operation against abusive betting. From 16 to 20 November, sweeping checks were carried out in 25 Italian provinces by the Committee for the Prevention and Repression of Illegal Gaming, Game Safety and the Protection of Minors, a body chaired by Customs agency and which sees the participation of State Police, carabinieri e Guard of Finance.

The operation involved all Italian regions – with the exception of Valle d’Aosta and Molise – and the businesses subjected to control were in all 454. 45 people were reported for abusive gambling, identified 25 commercial businesses that, without authorization issued by the Customs Agency and in the absence of a public safety license, they collected betss

even if on behalf of foreign operators.

They were kidnapped 90 entertainment machines, 17 totems, 64 personal computers. Finally, 14 people were sanctioned for violating anti Covid regulations. The territorial offices of Adm are preparing to raise beyond 200 fines for a total of 8 million euros. Only in the provinces of Trapani, Reggio di Calabria and Messina were sanctions high for amounts exceeding one and a half million euros.
