Double Italy-Germany confrontation this morning – bad weather permitting – in the semifinals of the “Open City of Bari”, ATP Challenger tournament with a prize pool of 44,820 euros which is about to conclude on the concrete fields of the Country Club of the Apulian capital.

In the semi-final of the upper part of the board Thomas Fabbiano, n.213 ATP, asks Oscar Otte for a path, 112 ATP and third seed: one equal to the balance of the precedents between the 32 year old from San Giorgio Jonico and the 28 year old from Cologne. The match was interrupted on Saturday by rain with the German leading 64 1-1.

In the other challenge, instead, Andrea Vavassori, 281 ATP, quite lucky this week (5 match-points canceled for Andrea Pellegrino in the second round, Filippo Baldi’s retirement in the quarters), has to contend with Daniel Masur, 204 ATP and eighth favorite in seeding: between the 26 year old from Turin and the 27 year old from Bueckerburg there are no precedents (the match has not even started).

The two winners will then return to the field in the early afternoon to play for the title.
