“Photo Vogue Festival”, Puglia on display in Milan

BARI – Milan Mediterranean set, this is the ‘claim’ chosen for the great event that will take place in Milan, but which will see Puglia as the absolute protagonist.

In fact, the Photo Vogue Festival, the international festival entirely dedicated to fashion photography, will be held from 18 to 21 November. This year, the kermesse will also speak Apulian thanks to Carmela Comes’ high fashion and some homegrown ‘forays’.

PUGLIA ON EXHIBITION – November 19th, within the spaces of the Italian Institute of Photography, will be the day of Puglia thanks to a sort of ‘event within an event’. Milano Set Mediterraneo, an initiative proposed by the Italian Institute of Photography in collaboration with Urban Events, will, in fact, be the catwalk of high fashion bridal by Carmela Comes, a brand that, for over thirty years, has marked the times of bridal clothing with his rigorously handmade clothes. In particular, the event will stage the brand new ‘Hera Luxury Wedding 2022’ collection, with its tailored proposals that are the result of constant research between tradition and modernity and attention to detail.

On the occasion, the spot directed and shot by Gabriele Emiliano will also be presented to tell about the land of Puglia and promote the region.

But that’s not all: there will also be other excellences of our territory on display. Visitors will be able to get to know the artistic ceramics of Grottaglie, of which some pieces coming directly from the Ceramics Museum of the municipality of Taranto will be exhibited, be enchanted by the typical lights of the Apulian landscapes, appreciate some local delicacies such as the almond fig of the Municipality of San Michele Salentino or the ‘primitivo’, the warm and full-bodied wine which, perhaps more than any other, represents the typical oenological character of our region.

And, again, in the same location a space will be dedicated to the reportages of the “Mediterranean Walkway” event, made by the students of the Institute’s Biennial Professional Photography Course: Irene Bianchi, Ginevra Della Torre and Martina Gola and by photographers Alessandra Alba and Isabella Whale.

In short, a narrative that unfolds between haute couture, photography, landscape, food and wine typicality, but also history and traditions to offer an ‘all-round’ experience of Puglia, that involves all five senses. “Extraordinary Apulian testimonies”, defined them by the same designer who spoke of the Milanese occasion as a “great opportunity to show how unique sartorial masterpieces are created starting from patterns and, above all, drawing inspiration from everything that surrounds us, to starting right from the Apulian territory which, with its beauties, is a real inexhaustible source of ideas and creativity “.

Milano Set Mediterraneo will ultimately be a way to spread the image of the most beautiful Puglia, in Italy and abroad, through elements that enhance the authenticity of the places, artisan art, creativity, fashion, attention to social issues. A ‘hymn to beauty’ declined in all its forms. Not surprisingly, the event enjoys, among others, the patronage of Puglia Promotion, as well as the municipalities of Grottaglie and San Michele Salentino.

THE PHOTO VOGUE FESTIVAL – Now in its sixth edition, the photographic contest which, by now, is a real reference point for photography, art and fashion enthusiasts, will have, this year, the theme of the “Reframing History”, that is historical reinterpretations and ‘explorations’. It will be a four-day event that will take place throughout the city of Milan including talks, exhibitions and photo contests. “We want to explore those projects that recall different and alternative ways of telling a story,” said the organizers. It is in this context that hospitality goes well with the all-Apulian event that wants to give voice to a land with ‘a wonderful story to tell’.
