There are 170 people reported in the province of Pavia accused of having unduly received citizenship income for a total amount of 490,500 euros. The investigation, which began last year, was conducted by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Pavia together with colleagues from the Labor Inspectorate Unit. One of the suspects, caught in the act of crime, was arrested.
The measures concerned 30 Italian citizens and 140 foreigners, of which 128 Romanians. All are held responsible (for various reasons and some in competition with each other) for the crimes of ideological falsehood committed by a private individual in a public act and improper, attempted or consumed perception of citizenship income. They allegedly presented false documents, including certificates of permanent residence for citizens of the European Union issued by the Municipality of Milan and clearly forged.
According to the investigations, some of the suspects also acted in concert with each other “organizing a real criminal organization aimed at illegally obtaining income”.
