A decision that concerns Mario Draghi, taken at the end of a highly confidential meeting convened by the prefect of Rome, Matteo Piantedosi, summit attended by the Chief of Police of the Capital, Mario Della Cioppa, the provincial commander of the carabinieri of Rome Lorenzo Falferi and that of the Guardia di Finanza Paolo Compagnone. At the meeting, as reported by Leggo.it which documents everything also in images, the enhancement of the level of protection of the Prime Minister was developed.
Already, these days the air is tense, not very reassuring: just think to the events of Trieste, to the tightening decided by the government on the no-pass marches, to the protests in Milan. In short, the alert is growing for Draghi, one of the main theoretical targets of violent and troublemakers.
And so, also recalling what happened on 9 October last with the assault on the CGIL (a case that highlighted the insufficiency of the security level) and after the excellent performance of the G20, as mentioned, the security levels have been raised, with important restrictions on the right to demonstrate: marches are prohibited but sit-in, but away from historical centers, institutional offices and sensitive objectives.
So, in this context, here is that too the level of protection for Mario Draghi has been raised. We learn that for about a week, for the premier, things have changed: the armored vehicles on the corner with Via del Corso, near Palazzo Chigi, have tripled, as well as the ban on crossing Piazza Colonna has returned.
And again, the presence of the police has also been strengthened near Draghi’s private home: in addition to the carabinieri cars present 24 hours a day, other armored vehicles have been positioned near the weapon for days. Leggo.it, however, it does know that in conclusion that new threats have so far been ruled out from sources of Palazzo Chigi.
