The squeeze ordered by the Minister of the Interior Lamorgese infuriates the No Green Pass, who are not however willing to stop their protest: “They cannot forbid us from demonstrating. We will read the Viminale circular and, for the sake of the people joining the event and out of respect for the traders, we will consider changing the meeting place for Saturday ”, said Marco Liccione.

The participants in the protests against the Green Pass, which in recent weeks have occupied the squares of Milan and Trieste, creating tensions and unrest, have not remained silent after the news of the close of the Minister of the Interior Lamorgese, which he decided to prohibit parades in historic centers, to preserve commercial activities, but also to try to limit the circulation of the virus, which inevitably increases with large gatherings.

Demonstrations will henceforth be permitted only far from sensitive objectives, such as party headquarters, trade unions and institutional buildings. Otherwise the police will intervene by interrupting the event. Of course, all citizens will be able to continue demonstrating, but in full compliance with the rules, without putting the health of others at risk. The President of the Republic also recalled this, Sergio Mattarella, who spoke at the opening of the 38th national assembly of the ANCI: “Legitimate forms of dissent can never overwhelm the civic duty to protect the weakest: we must defeat the virus, not attack the tools that fight it”.

The reaction of the No Green Pass

“They cannot forbid us from demonstrating. We will read the Viminale circular and, for the sake of the people joining the demonstration and out of respect for the traders, we will consider changing the meeting place for Saturday”, commented Marco Liccione, spokesperson for the ‘Variante Torinese’ movement that has been gathering thousands of people against green certification every Saturday for months. “The solution would be to get out of the center and we are willing to do it out of respect for the traders unlike the government which does not respect anyone”, Liccione said, according to which it is necessary “hold on and continue to demonstrate. Piazza Castello is not the symbol of the revolt. The symbol of the revolt are the people. If they allow us to demonstrate elsewhere we will be there, otherwise it will be a full-blown dictatorship”.

“All restrictions on people’s freedoms are wrong”, he told ANSA Stefano Puzzer, leader of the movement ‘People like us – Fvg’ and one of the most recognizable faces of the no Green pass protests. “We will find out if these directives are lawful”, he added. After that “if they are lawful, we will respect them, otherwise we will oppose them by legal means and if we are told that we can move, we will move”. Opposing legally, however, implies waiting for some time and then, in the meantime, “we will undertake to organize static demonstrations”.

Regarding the impact of the demonstrations on commercial activities, Puzzer said the fault lies with the institutions, because “create media terrorism”: “We are not the ones who have armored the city.”
