The umpteenth tragedy at work was consumed today in Rome. A 41-year-old worker fell from a scaffolding to lose his life.
The accident occurred in Piazzale Gregorio VII, in the San Pietro area, around 12:30.
According to preliminary information, the worker, of Romanian origin, was working on an external scaffolding on the second floor of a building when he slipped, falling into the void. To alert the rescue a woman, who witnessed the scene. The attempts to save the 41-year-old were useless: he died instantly and the medical examiner could only ascertain his death.
The police officers and the Primavalle police station arrived on the spot, also followed by the agents of the Scientific Police who carried out the surveys, with the aim of reconstructing the incident and verifying both the authorizations and compliance with the safety regulations on the site.
The body is now at the disposal of the judicial authority. The Rome Prosecutor’s Office will open an investigation for manslaughter once the first police report has been obtained.
A massacre that seems to have no end, always in the construction sector. On 29 September, after a 30-meter flight from the eleventh floor of the construction site where he was working, the 47-year-old lost his life Fabrizio Pietropaoli. He was in charge of the works for a company in charge of some external renovations of the building where the accident occurred.
For this story nine people, the managers of the three companies that are carrying out the work at Towers of the Eur, were entered in the register of suspects, while investigations continue to reconstruct the dynamics of the incident. For them the charge is of manslaughter.
