The last medal collected by Italy at the European Champions in Kazan is silver. The mixed mixed relay brings another second place to the blue expedition thanks to the fractions of Michele Lamberti (22.72) Nicolò Martinenghi (25.13) Elena Di Liddo (25.09) Silvia Di Pietro (23.45).

The quartet improves the national record set at the world championships in Doha in 2014 and brings the record to 1: 36.39 beating Russia by 3 cents, which stops on the lowest step of the podium.

The gold goes to the Netherlands who signs the new world record in the specialty thanks also to the closing fraction of Thom De Boer who covers the two pools in 20.15, the final time is 1: 36.18
