Vaccine, third dose, anti Covid pill

The coordinator of the Scientific Technical Committee, Franco Locatelli, confirms to UnoMattina in famiglia, that within the week the ok for the third dose of vaccine under 60 years. As for the anti Covid pill arriving from Great Britain adds that it should arrive “very shortly, within a few weeks”. On the vaccination of children, Locatelli hopes to leave for the 5/11 age bracket in December, as soon as the EMA has approved the serum and Aifa has given the green light for Italy. Finally, the coordinator of the Scientific Technical Committee explains that “Italy is better than many other European countries, even if we must insist on the vaccination campaign and always keep our guard up”.

“If we don’t increase the number of vaccinates with the first dose and if we don’t give the third quickly we will have ustrong ascent, more than what we see now. It will presumably happen between January and February“he warned Walter Ricciardi, consultant to the Minister of Health, in an interview with Repubblica. “Certainly, however, mortality will be lower than that of the first major waves thanks to vaccines, which in any case will protect a little”, assured Ricciardi. Regarding the resistance of some parents to the vaccine for children, Ricciardi suggests explaining to them “that vaccines are safe and protective and that the risk of contracting the infection and getting sick remains very high”: “On the other hand”, he recalled, “the vast majority of vaccines are administered precisely in the pediatric age”. On the announcement that new drugs against Covid are on the way, Ricciardi warned that “the vaccine remains the fundamental tool, it avoids the disease”. “It is good that there are effective drugs, but they have a different purpose, that is the cure. And by the way they are enormously more expensive”, he observed, “we could not afford them for millions of people and in any case using only those would mean have more dead and sick. They are two tools to integrate. Even if we have antibiotics, we do not stop using the bacterial meningitis vaccine. “
