Italy U21, the squad for Ireland: two new entries for Nicolato. They are Scalvini and Quagliata

One month after the last two qualifying matches with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sweden – the first won 2-1 and the second drawn 1-1 – the national team Under 21 tadorns the field to resume the European journey. The next stage, the fifth match of the group, is Friday 12 at the “Tallaght Stadium” in Dublin (live Rai2 at 18.30) against the Republic of Ireland. Second in the standings with ten points, one distance from leaders Sweden who played one more game, Italy will try to lengthen the pace against the two pursuers, Montenegro and Ireland both at seven, while in the penultimate position there is Bosnia with five points and what Luxembourg stops at one.

After this commitment, the Under 21 team will be a guest on Tuesday 16 at the “Benito Stirpe” stadium in Frosinone where a friendly match against Romania is scheduled (live Rai2 at 5.30 pm). Coach Paolo Nicolato has called up 25 players today: first call for Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini and for that of Heracles Almelo, team from the top division of the Dutch league, Giacomo Quagliata.

The group will meet on Sunday evening at the Olympic preparation center in Tirrenia, where the following day the preparation will begin with two daily training sessions. Departure for Dublin on Wednesday 10th afternoon.
