(ANSA) – ROME, OCTOBER 26 – “The pandemic has hit hard both Italy and all the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. We are getting out of it paying a very high price in terms of human lives and economic and social consequences, but also with the awareness that only together can we rebuild better “. This was stated by Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio in his speech at the 10th Italy-Latin America and Caribbean conference.
“Italy is committed to promoting a more equitable, sustainable and resilient post-pandemic recovery, promoting a development model that points to the transition to clean energy forms and leaves no one behind. The G20 countries, responsible for the 80 % of global CO2 emissions have a particular responsibility in achieving climate goals “, Di Maio stressed, recalling that” first of all we need to continue the battle for vaccines and accelerate the pace towards the objectives of the 2030 Agenda “.
“We have articulated the program of the Italian Presidency of the G20 around these priorities”, underlined the minister.
