Falling cables injured passers-by and damaged several dozen cars
a big bundle of cables he detached himself from the Aldo Moro high road in Genoa on the afternoon of Sunday 24 October, injuring two people. The incident took place at Piazza Loading, near the Aquarium, an area particularly popular with tourists.
The two injured people were rescued by 118 personnel and transported to code yellow at the Galliera Hospital. They wouldn’t be in serious conditions. Two other people were hit without though to report damage.
Falling cables damaged about fifty vehicles. The largest, probably responsible for the detachment of the others, would be a data cable. The wind would have caused the enormous damage.
The press office of E-distribution let it be known that the cables are not owned by the company. On the area, now cordoned off, the fire brigade and the local police of Genoa are proceeding with the findings of the case.
