Angela Merkel escapes from Ursula von der Leyen. During the work of the European Council in Brussels, the President of the EU Commission rushed to greet the German Chancellor and held out her hand, but Merkel, visibly shocked by the gesture prohibited by anti Covid regulations, pulled back. Von der Leyen did not understand that he was committing a huge gaffe and insisted on ending up giving life to a sensational fluff. To get out of the impasse, the Chancellor, albeit annoyed and reluctant, granted the hand clenched in a fist in a vain attempt to avoid bacterial contamination, but the President clamped it in a two-handed grip. Not happy, Ursula even touched the arm of a colleague with her hand. Then, amid the sighs of relief from those present, she walked away. The slip was immortalized in a video by @marcobreso on Twitter.
