This morning in Milan, in via Adige 4 “Granarolo Bottega”, the first store of the Granarolo SpA Group was inaugurated in a large urban center, conceived in an anti-waste perspective and dedicated to the almost exclusive sale of products from the Granarolo wallet. The ribbon cutting saw the presence of Anna Scavuzzo, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Milan, and Gianpiero Calzolari, President of Granarolo SpA
In a 190sqm space located in one of the most characteristic and populated districts of Milan, the shop is composed of a self-service area, with fresh and ambient products, and a serviced cutting counter area, with 8 windows to give maximum visibility to the Granarolo brand but also to the Yomo and Centrale del Latte Milano brands.
With the name “Bottega”, which recalls the concept of a neighborhood shop, in strong relationship with tradition, the Group’s commitment to sustainability issues for today and for the future is also at the center of the project, in in line with the path taken by the three-year Sustainability Plan promoted in 2018 and in line with the 12th Goal “Responsible Consumption and Production” of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations. The concept of the point of sale is in fact also designed to reduce the waste of short-term products that every large company in the Food sector can encounter and to allow consumers to save on the shelf price, which will be significant on the numerous short-term products present every day in special last minute promotional areas. Energy savings will also be achieved through a choice of new generation refrigerated cabinets with low environmental impact.
Granarolo Bottega Milano thus joins the outlets that have sprung up next to the Group’s production plants in Bologna, Castelfranco Emilia (MO) and Gioia del Colle (BA), respectively, a self-service fresh market where Granarolo employees, private consumers and operators in the sector Ho.Re.Ca. already have the opportunity to find a wide range of products at affordable prices, including those from the Granarolo portfolio and a selection of references according to seasonality.
With the opening of Milan, Granarolo’s goal is to inaugurate other points of sale in Italian city centers, directly managed by the Group, between 2021 and 2022.
