The WRC 2022 season calendar has been released. Thirteen tests of the upcoming season, with the current one that has not yet finished, for a calendar that runs from January (Montecarlo) to November (Japan); no races in March, great concentration in the summer months. Italy present with the appointment in Sardinia from 2 to 5 June.
The novelty is the return of New Zealand, which regains a place in the top world circuit after a stop that had lasted since 2012 in terms of WRC. Sweden also returns after a year off, but moves from Torsby to Umea. There are no Mexico and Chile, although both have agreements one expiring in 2023 and the other in 2022.
Another novelty concerns the Monte Carlo Rally, which will no longer also have a gap in the course, but only Monaco. There is also an as yet undefined rally, which would serve as the ninth round of the World Championship from 18 to 21 August according to the wishes of the FIA. Certainly four, in any case, the continents touched.
