It will be October 15 that promises to be “hot” in Milan, not only for the entry into force of the obligation of the Green Pass for all workers in the public and private sector. But also because this rule will also have repercussions on transport: in fact, a 4% cut in surface travel is expected for tomorrow, due to the absence of ATM staff. To explain it is the same Atm that today took stock of how many employees will be who tomorrow will be unavailable to work: to enter service tomorrow, yesterday 272 employees declared that they do not have the green certificate. At the same time, then, of the total 9600 workers – of which 6900 are those who work as drivers, controllers and train drivers – tomorrow there was an increase of 15 per cent in procedures due to illness: in fact, therefore, between the thousand and 1,500 Atm employees will be unavailable to work tomorrow and the Milanese transport company, by its own admission, will struggle to replace them all. Hence the difficulty in guaranteeing the service “in full” and the consequent need to “reorganize” the races. 4 per cent of the 25,000 daily trips of surface vehicles cannot be guaranteed: that is to say that about a thousand trips will not be carried out and that the Milanese will have to wait longer at the stop. Instead, the subway service will go better, where ATM explains that “the situation will be more or less uniform and there will be only slight irregularities”.

Furthermore, the transport company wholly owned by the Municipality of Milan has entered into an agreement with the San Raffaele hospital in order to guarantee its employees a “preferential lane to carry out quick antigenic swabs” at a controlled cost of 15 euros, so as ordered by General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, extraordinary commissioner for the Covid emergency. Three points in Milan where Atm employees can present themselves freely without the need for an appointment: via Santa Croce, via Respighi and via Washington.
