The green pass will be mandatory in the workplace starting from 15 October, but some proposals have been launched from the regions to reduce the load of swabs to be processed, such as moving the validity of the rapid from 48 to 72 hours and giving the possibility to carry out DIY tampons in the company under the supervision of the doctor. To draw a picture of the current situation of the battle at Covid is Matteo Bassetti, director of the infectious disease clinic of the Policlinico San Martino in Genoa, guest of Tagadà, an afternoon broadcast of La7 conducted in the episode of 13 October by Alessio Orsingher. “I think we need to take a step back on the decision to establish the green pass. The goal was to have the Italians vaccinated, so much so that we mimicked the French who had few vaccinated in June. Has the green pass achieved its intended purpose to date? No! I have been a big supporter of the green pass, but you can’t think that the vaccine surrogate is the buffer, it’s nonsense. We want to make places safe by having the swab done in self-administration… But let’s be aware ”.
The Ligurian infectious disease specialist then launches his proposal to proceed in the future: “It is right to freeze the green pass, as it is structured it makes no sense and is not applicable in the workplace. Let’s continue to apply the green pass in places of coexistence such as restaurants, cinemas, bars, theaters, stadiums and concerts and let’s stop making fun of people. It is not an experiment that gives more security. You have security if people get vaccinated, not with tampons. Either one has the courage to the fullest and imposes the obligation to vaccinate, or it is said that the green pass can only be obtained with a vaccine and previous infection. It is an Italian papocchio that makes no sense. It is a political decision and therefore politics must take responsibility for it. Don’t say it’s a medical choice, there’s nothing medical or scientific. So much so that – Bassetti concludes his speech in a heartfelt manner – no one in the world has done a similar operation “.
