The Municipality of Genoa is present at the 2021 edition of Smau Milano, the national appointment of reference for all companies that want to start product and process development activities in the name of innovation, in progress at Fieramilano Cily, today and tomorrow. This afternoon, during the round table dedicated to “Services and digital infrastructures for the smart city”, the Councilor for the Environment, Mobility and Ecological Transition spoke Matteo Campora who illustrated the results of the Send project (Smau 2021 Innovation Award as Italian excellence in Innovation model for companies and public administration), active since 2019, for eco-sustainable deliveries in the historic center of Genoa.
“In these two years – said the commissioner Campora – we have been able to touch the benefits of a logistic micro-chain for deliveries with electric vehicles in the historic center, but above all we have been able to understand how from the collaboration with ideas of individuals and start-ups, that focus on innovation, sustainable mobility solutions with zero impact on the environment can be found. As a Municipality we have given the possibility to those who use electric vehicles to access the Ztl h24. The challenge is to get to have a very large historical center with very narrow streets, totally carbon neutral over the next 5 years ».
Campora then underlined that “the Municipality of Genoa wants to win the challenge of a fully electric public transport fleet in 2025, posing the further challenge of energy distribution and adequate infrastructures in line with the new environmental sustainability objectives. and green mobility “.
In addition to Campora, the round table was attended by: Franco Boots, head of Ferrovie dello Stato Innovation; Massimo Biagetti, director of the Metropolitan City of Bologna; Danilo Santi, director of Gardaland; Riccardo Malabarba, junior data scientist Siram Veolia; Marco Cavone, Telepass Digital.
