He went to the police station and denounced himself, after the tam tam of the images on social media that had now pilloried him at the end of Saturday’s No Green Pass demonstration, which resulted in a guerrilla war on the streets of Rome.
The protagonist of the story is a plainclothes policeman who first mixed with those who were protesting, only to be filmed beating an excited protester with kicks and punches. On Monday afternoon, the policeman presented himself at the police station, provided his personal details and reported himself to the judicial authorities. The alleged offense is that of beatings.
The video showing a man in a gray T-shirt during the arrest of a protester in Via del Corso had already been circulating on the social networks of No Green Pass since Sunday. In the first images we see the agent next to two armored vehicles: he pushes one of the vehicles next to the No Green Passes, imitates their gestures. The second, the most serious, right in via del Corso: the same policeman beats the demonstrator already on the ground.
Guerrilla in Rome, the version of the Prefect: “The security plan has been adapted. This is the reason for the clashes”
In the social channels, the man in the gray shirt was identified (and mistakenly mistaken) for a police officer of the Prati police station, who was later found to be unrelated to the facts. To confuse users, the face that could have appeared similar, but the Police Headquarters, after the findings made, ruled out that the man in the gray shirt was the manager of the Prati police station.
However, on the Telegram channels, the insults against the head of the state police were now a river in flood, so much so that yesterday the author of the original post was also denounced. An exchange of person cost dearly, for the person reported now accused of defamation and slander.
