An envelope with a bullet and an anonymous threatening letter to the secretary of the Tuscan Fim-Cisl, Alessandro Beccastrini was delivered yesterday afternoon to the headquarters of the CISL Firenze-Prato in via Carlo Del Prete, in the northern outskirts of Florence. The CISL reports today.
The police were informed of the incident and immediately activated. Investigations of the Digos in progress.
“It is yet another act of intimidation that the CISL undergoes on this territory”, says the CISL Florence-Prato Secretary General, Fabio Franchi.
The envelope was delivered yesterday to the mailbox of the CISL headquarters in Florence located in the working class district of Rifredi Ponte di Mezzo. The envelope had indicated the address of the office on the outside, while, according to what we learn, the name of Alessandro Beccastrini appears among the threats that would be read in the letter contained inside. Beccastrini is the general secretary of the Fim Toscana, the acronym of the metalworkers of the CISL. The envelope was opened on Monday evening and the police were immediately notified. Today a police patrol has visibly stationed in front of this CISL headquarters, in via Carlo Del Prete.
“Our closeness and solidarity go to Alessandro and all the Fim for this cowardly intimidation, which will not make us step back an inch in our commitment, determined and constant, alongside the workers – commented Franchi – Episodes like this, indeed reinforce even more our conviction in participating in the joint demonstration next Saturday in Rome. Because every threat, every abuse, every violence, which is addressed to the confederal trade union and the democratic institutions of this country, should not be ignored, nor underestimated, but it needs that those who sincerely believe in democracy and non-violence make their voice heard, clear and strong “.
