Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 October the Le Robinie Golf Club in Solbiate Olona will host the 32nd edition of the Italian Individual Championships of the UILG (Italian Union of Lions Golfers). I lions golfers, from all over Italy, will find themselves on the splendid course, the only one in Italy designed by the “legendary” Jack Nicklaus and which the club’s Greenkeeper is preparing for the occasion.
They will be 51 players admitted who will compete for the coveted titles of Gross Champion and Net Champion and the fight for the Gross will be very open as the multiple champion from Bolzano Moreno Trisorio had to give up at the last moment due to sudden physical problems.
The event, organized by the Secretary General of UILG, the Rescaldinese Oreste Barbaglia, with the supervision of the Presidentissimo UILG Piero Spaini and the collaboration of the patron Matteo Brambilla and his collaborators of the Golf Le Robinie secretariat, will have its particular highlight in the evening of Saturday 9 October at the Golf Club Restaurant where the gala dinner and all trophies will be awarded of the 2021 sports season and the legendary Blue Jacket to the winner of the Lions Golf Trophy 2021 which, this year, despite being played in reduced form due to Covid19, saw the participation of over 200 players distributed over 6 circuit races of the various Regional Championships, instead of the traditional 10 races.
The Italian Championship will take place over two days with the medal formula and will have two stableford formula races at which all golfers can participate freely who will want to sign up. Given the favorable weather forecasts for the we, there are two beautiful days of golf, too in the name of solidarity, given the statutory purposes of the Italian Union of Lions Golfers, founded in 1989 and recognized by the Lions Club International in the National Congress of Bari in May 1990.
