Starbucks, which recently celebrated three years in Italy, starting from the Piazza Cordusio Roastery in Milan, inaugurated on 6 September 2018, puts a substantial plan on the table: 26 new openings by 2023, which will employ 300 people.

Developed in collaboration with Percassi group, partner and sole licensee for our country, the program, for the end of 2021, opens with 3 new stores, two of which in Lombardy and one in Turin, after the one, of 550 square meters on three levels, located in Via Bruno Buozzi, downtown area, and opened in autumn 2019. Another 11 cafes are planned in 2022, and a further 12 in 2023.

“The new stores – the company announced – will be located in privileged locations throughout Central and Northern Italy. The next settlements will include a number of new formats, combining physical and digital, to allow Starbucks to meet the needs of customers wherever they are during the day and to personalize their experience ”.

Currently the brand has 11 cafes in Italy – most of which in Milan – e including the new store in Florence, which debuted in April 2021 at the I Gigli shopping center in Campi Bisenzio.

The American giant presides over today 83 geographic markets: USA, of course, and then, to mention at random, Australia, Canada, China, Colombia, Brazil, Egypt, South Africa, France, Spain, Germany, Arab countries …

According to the figures of Statista the group obviously blamed the pandemic: worldwide net sales went from $ 26.51 billion in 2019 to $ 19.16 in 2020. However, in the third fiscal quarter, 13 weeks ending June 27, 2021, constant network sales showed growth of 73 percent and 84 percent in the American area.

During the same period Starbucks group has opened 352 new stores, bringing its network to 33,295 locations.
