The virus moves back further: in fact, this week, the value of the incidence of cases from Covid-19, while the transmissibility index remains stable Rt. The incidence at the national level is decreasing: 37 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (24/09 / 2021-30 / 09/2021) against 45 per 100,000 inhabitants in the previous week. In the period 8-21 September, the mean Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was instead equal to 0.83 (range 0.81 – 0.85), below the epidemic threshold and stable compared to the previous week when it reached the value of 0.82. This is evidenced by the draft of the weekly monitoring by Iss-Ministry of Health under examination by the control room.

According to the note, the percentage of cases detected through the appearance of symptoms slightly decreases (45 percent compared to 46). The percentage of cases diagnosed through screening activities remains stable at 21 per cent. Higher vaccination coverage and the completion of vaccination cycles represent the main tools to prevent further recurrences of episodes of increased circulation of the virus supported by emerging variants. “It is advisable to carry out a capillary tracing and containment of cases, to maintain high attention and to apply and respect measures and behaviors to limit the further increase in viral circulation”, reads the note.
