Over the weekend, the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Rome carried out numerous drug checks with targeted blitzes in the outskirts of the capital. The balance of activities is 11 people arrested and hundreds of drug doses seized.
The Carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Compagnia Roma Montesacro arrested a 41-year-old Roman who was caught selling cocaine in via Recanati in San Basilio to three different buyers. The man was blocked and found in possession of further doses of cocaine and 3.5 grams of hashish, as well as 170 euros in cash while the buyers were identified and reported to the Territorial Office of the Rome government as employers.
In via Aldo Buzzi, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Nucleus of Rome arrested a 32-year-old Roman who was blocked just after having given a few doses of cocaine to a 30-year-old Roman. In the 32-year-old’s car, parked nearby, the Carabinieri found and seized 31 doses of the same drug. The arrested person was placed under house arrest.
The Carabinieri of the Rome Centocelle Station arrested a 23-year-old Roman, already subjected to house arrest who, during a check to verify his presence in the house in via delle Campanule, was found in possession of a piece of hashish weighing 19 grams and two more doses of the same drug, as well as packaging material and a knife with a blade soaked in drug.
The Carabinieri of the Roma Eur station arrested a 30-year-old from Bangladesh who was surprised in Viale America while he was giving a sachet containing 6 yaba tablets to a fellow countryman. The military blocked and searched him and found another 15 tablets of the same drug and 275 euros in cash, allegedly the proceeds of drug dealing.
In via Palmiro Togliatti, however, the Carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Compagnia Roma Piazza Dante arrested a 25-year-old from Gambia, homeless and with precedents, noticed while he was approaching some young people in via Tiburtina. After following him for a short distance, they surprised him as he gave 3 grams of heroin to a 54-year-old Roman. In his pockets were also found 1,000 euros in cash, believed to be the proceeds of the drug dealing.
The Carabinieri of the Roma Montespaccato station stopped a 29-year-old Roman who was wandering suspiciously in via Giuseppe Piolti de ‘Bianchi for a check. The Carabinieri searched him and found 5 grams of cocaine and cash. He was arrested and placed under house arrest, pending the very direct rite.
An 18-year-old Roman, already known to the police, was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Rome Tor Vergata station after being caught giving some doses of hashish to a peer in via del Fosso di Santa Maura. The Carabinieri seized 5 grams of the same drug and cash, found in his pockets. The same Carabinieri also arrested a 38-year-old from Guinea noticed in Via Casilina at the “Torrenova” metro stop C while he was giving a couple of doses of hashish to a 27-year-old from Viterbo. The 38-year-old was found in possession of several doses of the same drug and 200 euros, believed to be the proceeds of the drug deal. The buyers who were reported to the Territorial Office of the Government of Rome, as drug users, were also identified.
The Carabinieri of the Rome Tor Bella Monaca Station, on the other hand, arrested, with the help of colleagues from the 8th Lazio Regiment, a 51-year-old originally from the province of Oristano but residing in Rome, already subjected to the measure of presentation in the barracks for previous crimes , who, stopped for a check in via Santa Rita da Cascia, was found in possession of 8 doses of cocaine and 200 euros, deemed to be the proceeds of illegal activity.
The same military arrested a 42-year-old Roman in execution of an order for the application of the precautionary measure of custody in prison, issued on 24 September 2021 by the Rome Surveillance Office. The precautionary measure arises following the continuous violations of house arrest to which the man was already subjected for drug offenses and ascertained by the Carabinieri. The 42-year-old was taken from his home in via dell’Archeologia and taken to the Rieti prison.
Also in via dell’Archeologia, the Carabinieri of the Operational Section of the Compagnia di Frascati arrested a 17-year-old from Marino stuck inside a well-known drugstore square. The subsequent personal search carried out by the military led to the discovery of 16 doses of cocaine and 95 euros which he hid in the pockets of his suit. The minor was accompanied to the Center of First Reception for Minors in Rome pending the very direct rite.
