About ten thousand people crossed the center of Turin in support of LGBTQI + rights on the occasion of the event Turin Pride. In the lead, together with the mayor Chiara Hangers, Vladimir Luxuria and the coordinator of Torino Pride Alessandro Battaglia. “I am very satisfied, we are very happy and happy because the result is very good and above all it is a partial return to normality”, explains Battaglia. “We had to contain our imagination, but the result seems interesting to me,” he adds. The mayoral candidates also participated in the parade Stefano Lo Russo, of the center-left, and Valentina Sganga, of the M5s. The center-right candidate Paolo Damilano is absent. “If he really believed that Turin is the capital of rights, perhaps he would have done well to come – comments Battaglia – because we are very important elements in the field of rights”. For Luxuria “it is clear that Damilano must answer to his electorate, Brothers of Italy and Lega have always spoken very badly of Pride. Now there is also the People of the Family. Surely. Damilano is a person who has no problem in terms of LGBT rights, but I think he would have been too embarrassing for him to be here“, Concludes the Luxuria affair. According to Battaglia “Turin can take many more steps and it would be very important for the next mayor to be in a position to take those steps that are still missing. There was a lack of an overall strategy for LGBT rights and beyond. And a little money was lacking because there is a need for it, making your citizens feel good is first and foremost the task of a mayor “, concludes the Pride coordinator.
