The former premier intervenes at the conference in support of the candidate for the administrative offices of Milan, Luca Bernardo: “It combines concreteness, humanity and organizational capacity”
“Forza Italia we must be convinced it is irreplaceable and it is essential for a center-right capable of winning and governing.” So the former premier Silvio Berlusconi, during a phone call at the “Forza Milano” conference promoted by the party in view of the administrative elections
, in support of the center-right candidate, Luca Bernardo. “Only with Forza Italia strong in numbers and ideas can the center-right aspire to lead the major Italian municipalities today – he added – and tomorrow for the entire country after 2023”.
Milan – he recalled – “needs a change, to return to being welcoming and supportive, to take up the challenges of other European cities not only in the center in the luxury areas but also in the neighborhoods ». “We are the most important city in Italy, for culture, scientific research, for artistic activities, we have the right and the duty to change”. And on the candidacy of Bernardo, he concluded: «We have chosen not a professional politician, but a person who has been able to combine in his work concreteness, humanity and organizational capacity and authentic love for neighbor and in particular for children. I am proud of this choice. In this spirit, I appeal to all the Milanese to support Luca Bernardo and the Forza Italia slate with their vote. These elections are won in the center, and only we represent the liberal, Christian, pro-European, guarantor center. We must be proud of our symbol and our flags. The quality of our candidates and our programs ».
The former premier also launched a thrust to the center-left that leads the Lombard capital: «Since Forza Italia was born in 1994, Milan has profoundly changed with avant-garde neighborhoods, Expo and all the initiatives created by our center-right administrations. All this would not have been possible without the Albertini and Moratti councils, whoever came later lived on the legacy of the past and inaugurated our works. After 10 years on the left, our legacy is running out – said Berlusconi – if Milan still retains its modern, glossy and fashionable image, there is very little under it. There are no plans for the future, there is no attention for the weak, the elderly are left to fend for themselves, security is not guaranteed and petty crime is widespread. The administration has pursued a manner of environmentalism with cycle paths that have damaged traders without making cyclists safe ».
