Turned into the investigation into the death of Laura Ziliani, the former security guard from Temù, in Brescia, who vanished into thin air last May 8 and whose body was found among the vegetation in the village of Alta Vallecamonica on August 8. This morning, two of the three daughters of the woman and the boyfriend of the eldest were arrested by the carabinieri of Brescia. Silvia and Paola Zani, 27 and 19 years old, and Mirto Milani, the latter resident in the province of Lecco, were joined by a precautionary custody order in prison, issued by the investigating judge of the Brescia Court.
The crimes of voluntary homicide, aggravated by the relationship of kinship with the victim, and the concealment of a corpse have been contested. The investigations, in parallel with the research, would have highlighted numerous anomalies in the story provided by the three arrested, “inducing the carabinieri and the Prosecutor’s Office to consider the version of the accident or illness in the mountains not very credible”, report the investigators.
The investigating judge: “Killed for her assets”
“The murderous intention is the result of a long premeditation and a criminal plan that allowed them to conceal death for a long time and to sidetrack investigations”. The investigating judge, Alessandra Sabatucci, writes it in the precautionary custody order. According to the investigators, the motive is of an economic nature: “The three suspects had a clear interest in replacing Laura Ziliani in the administration of a vast real estate portfolio in order to solve their respective economic problems”. Thus, instead, the chief prosecutor of Brescia Francesco Prete: “We are in front of a circumstantial picture. Four and a half months of close investigations have led, however, to overturn the original version of the disappearance and natural death. Naturally the conditional is imposed. in the sense that we have no certainty. Ours is a hypothesis that at the moment we believe to be founded thanks also to the contribution made by the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Brescia which has identified traces of substances that probably have determined the cause of death or contributed to his determination “. Traces of benzodiazepines were found in Laura Ziliani’s body.
