“An exciting river of solidarity” – So Mauro Soldati, one of the leaders of the initiative, had defined the immediate response which had followed the appeal launched a few hours after the news of the takeover of Kabul by the Taliban. In a short time, in fact, more than 200 people had given their availability, up to 1300 applications today.
A project of widespread solidarity – The An Enoughperunadonnaafghana campaign started almost simultaneously with the arrival of the first images from Afghanistan in the hands of the Taliban. In particular, it was the direct testimony of some mediators close to the cooperative to trigger the idea. In addition to the response of the people ready to host the arriving people free of charge, the cooperative network – specified Legacoop Lombardia – has set in motion “agreements with large retailers on food surpluses that will lead to the creation of food bags for these people“, flanked by other projects that concern other aspects of the first assistance, such as the recovery of clothes.
The support of the Prefectures – The funds collected come largely from Milan and the metropolitan area, from Lombardy but also from other regions and cities of Italy: from Sicily, Rome, Turin, Naples, Venice and Florence. A great response of solidarity to which however – Anci recommended – it is necessary to follow a project of real integration “.
