Firefighters at work with rafting boats

The Milan Malpensa airport (Varese) is currently closed due to a violent storm, pending the restoration of the runways which are currently totally flooded. ENAV confirmed this to Ansa. It is assumed that flights will remain suspended until at least 11pm.

Ten people were rescued by the Fire Brigade, after being trapped in their cars, in the outer perimeter of the airport. At work there are river rescue specialists, also employed in the Cargo area, where about twenty people have been evacuated with rafting boats. There are several problems with the extra Shengen customs at the airport.
