Ruby ter, Berlusconi writes to judges: “No to psychiatric expertise”

Silvio Berlusconi against the psychiatric report requested against him in the Ruby ter trial, in which he is accused. The “decision” to submit the leader of Forza Italia “to not only medico-legal and cardiology, but also psychiatric expertise, appears beyond any logic and completely incongruous with respect to my history and my present”, the position of Berlusconi who surprisingly takes pen and paper, addressing with a letter to the president of the seventh criminal section of Milan, Mirko Tremolada, before whom the Ruby ter trial is underway.

” The hypothesis of undergoing a broad and unlimited psychiatric assessment by the Court – writes the Cav – demonstrates, for what I have done in my life in many sectors including entrepreneurship, sport and politics, an evident and incredible distortion of reality in the context of this unfair process. I cannot therefore – warns the former prime minister – accept this decision, which is detrimental to my history and my integrity ”.

For Berlusconi, the tones used by the Milanese prosecutors in the last hearing are “unacceptable”. In the statement, the leader of Forza Italia “agrees, in spite of himself, to the continuation of the trial in his absence”.

The choice of the former premier came after he learned the expert question ordered by the court, in particular – the defenders explain – in the face of “the breadth of the investigations, including psychiatric ones,”, Berlusconi considered the same “unacceptable”. Hence the decision to deposit in court a declaration signed by him in which, “despite the persistence of his current state of defedation”, Berlusconi “agrees, in spite of himself, to the continuation of the trial in his absence”.
