Municipal elections Rome 2021

Analyzing the results of two surveys Tecné, one made in early July and the other published on September 13, you can see how the distance between the center-left candidate, Roberto Gualtieri, and that of the center-right, Enrico Michetti, has hardly changed. Michetti is first and Gualtieri is second, down by about 6/7 percentage points, like two months ago. The only small change with respect to the survey of the summer is that the mayor Raggi appears to be recovering on the center-left candidate, but the distance is still long and, according to this survey, difficult to bridge. Michetti would be between 30 and 34 percent, Gualtieri between 23 and 27 percent, Virginia Raggi between 18 and 22 percent and Carlo Calenda between 15 and 19 percent. Other candidates would win between 4 and 8 percent of the vote. 10,000 citizens were interviewed: 2,000 accepted and 8,000 refused. Moreover, among those who replied, 45 per cent declared that they were uncertain or did not intend to go to the polls on Sunday 3 and Monday 4 October, the dates on which the administrative in Rome will be held.

Open battle for second place, Michetti already sure of the ballot

Michetti would now seem certain of first place. On the other hand, the battle for the second is open and therefore for access to the second round. Gualtieri, however, appears to have a clear advantage over Raggi and Calenda. According to the polls, however, the latter can count on good percentages in the suburbs, Raggi, and on the opinion vote, Calenda. The second place, therefore, is still far from decided and for Michetti’s hopes of victory it will be fundamental. According to many polls, in fact, Gualtieri and Calenda would be very strong in the runoff against Michetti, with the latter being favored only in the event of a clash with the outgoing mayor Raggi.
