PALERMO – The curve of the contagion from Covid-19 in Sicily falls. The data referring to the last 24 hours, and contained in the bulletin of the Ministry of Health and National Civil Protection, indicate a marked retreat of the virus: 471 new cases between yesterday and today compared to 19,075 swabs processed. The incidence, therefore, drops to almost 2.5% (yesterday it was 3.1%).

Sicily third for new cases

The island after weeks leaves the sad record of the Italian region with the most consistent increase in cases in one day and drops to third place. In the lead is Lombardy with 628 cases, Veneto in second place with 525. The current positives are 23,616, with a decrease of 1,888 cases. The healed are 2,331 while there are another 28 victims that bring the total deaths to 6,637. The Region of Sicily announces that the deaths reported today occurred: 4 on 13 September, 10 on 12 September, 6 on 11 September, 2 on 10 September and 2 on 7 September.

Hospital admissions are decreasing

On the hospital front there are now 830 hospitalized, 41 fewer than yesterday while in intensive care they are 98, 1 less than yesterday. This, however, is the situation of the contagion in the individual provinces: Palermo 98 new cases, Catania 125, Messina 5, Syracuse 72, Ragusa 34, Trapani 71, Caltanissetta 30, Agrigento 19, Enna 17.
