15-19 SEPTEMBER: after starting a new remnant of summer, especially in the South, the North African anticyclone will gradually tend to weaken, pressed by the entry of wet currents from Western Europe. Bad weather weekend on Italy due to an insidious depression vortex coming in from France, a harbinger of rains and thunderstorms starting from the North and the central Tyrrhenian regions. Meanwhile a first burst of Arctic air will reach European Russia and eastern Scandinavia.
20-26 SEPTEMBER (medium-low reliability): the third ten days of September will open with the establishment of a mighty blockade anticyclone over Scandinavia. A synoptic pattern favorable to significant negative thermal anomalies over Eastern Europe, struggling with cold and snow even at low altitudes under a flow of Arctic extraction currents; between 20 and 23 September a second storm break on Italy is possible due to a new unstable impulse of North Atlantic origin, linked to the depression activity between Iceland and Greenland. At the end of the period, the entry of cooler currents from the northern quadrants is possible.
27 SEPTEMBER – FIRST DECADE OF OCTOBER (low reliability): the anticyclonic highs still firmly established between Scandinavia, the United Kingdom and France lay the foundations for a probable continuation of the cold and unstable phase on Russia and the Baltic Republics. Meanwhile, on the eastern flank of the anticyclone colder northern currents could also lap Italy, causing local episodes of instability and a first significant thermal drop along the Adriatic and in Southern Italy. Thanks to a lower Atlantic activity, the rainfall rates could be lower than the norm in the regions of the upper Tyrrhenian Sea and in the North.
