A serious road accident in the center of Carcare on a day of sport and celebration. Four injured cyclists, two of them in serious condition, account for the collision between a car and four bikes that occurred during the final stages of the third edition of the Gran Fondo delle Alpi Liguri, a cycling event organized by the Loabikers sports group , and returned, after the long stop due to the pandemic, on the roads of Val Bormida. Due to the accident, the presence of a car, a Panda driven by a 25-year-old, who, exiting a garage, entered the road just as the first 4 competitors of the cycling race were approaching at high speed, in full sprint. The race, which started at 10.30 again from the straight in via Barrili, saw the competitors tackle a course of about 97 kilometers in just over two and a half hours. What was not foreseeable was, unfortunately, the dramatic end of the race. The cyclist from Imperia Manuele Caddeo, the Cuneo-based Mattia Magnaldi (33), the Turin-born Alessio Gasperin and another from Cuneo, the former professional Alberto Nardin, 31, ended ruinously on the asphalt after the impact with the car. , of Racconigi, the latter medicated in the area. The conditions of the first three appeared to be more serious right from the start: together with the automedica, several ambulances from the White Crosses of Carcare and Altare arrived.
