The southernmost tree in the world, the plant without petals and the seven Japanese autumn herbs. And then the edible flowers, medicinal plants, curiosities such as “spaghetti squash” and “discovolante” courgettes. These and other gems of the floristry-nursery world can be admired, from Thursday to Sunday, at the Montanelli Gardens. The occasion is Orticola, the famous market exhibition that this year plays ahead, with an extraordinary edition, from 16 to 19 Septembere, dedicated to autumn blooms and plants.
A corollary of the vast exhibition is also a full calendar of workshops for adults (from ikebana to botanical illustration from life, from the cultivation of orchids to the composition of floral decorations) and for children. Program and purchase tickets only online at orticola.org. Green pass required for entry.
Chosen because An unmissable appointment for those with a green thumb, Orticola is also “good” for the city: part of the proceeds are destined for the care of public parks.
Hours: From 16 to 19 sept. Thursday 15-19. From Fri to Sun 9.30am-7pm Prices 11 euros. Under 16 free admission
