Rome, 4 September 2021 – The epidemic curve in Italy is still slowly decreasing. The new cases on Saturday 4 September are 6,157, compared to 6,735 yesterday but above all to 6,860 on last Saturday, confirming that the weekly trend remains constantly decreasing. Over 330 thousand covid tests carried out in the last 24 hours, 35 thousand more than yesterday, so much so that the positivity rate drops from 2.3% to 1.9%. The deaths in the 24 hours are 56 (yesterday 58), for a total of 129,466 victims since the beginning of the epidemic. These are the data from the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health.
Swabs and positivity rate
There are 331,350 thousand molecular and antigenic swabs carried out in the last 24 hours in Italy, compared to 296.394 of the previous day. Positivity rate down, to 1.9%, while yesterday it was at 2.27.
Hospitalization and intensive care
The admissions in the ordinary wards return to rise, 40 more (yesterday, however, 41 less than the previous day) and 4,204 in total. In intensive care there are 13 more people (yesterday +1), with 53 entries of the day (of which 12 in Sicily alone), and there are 569 in total.
The most affected regions
Sicily still first in terms of number of infections (1,200), followed by Veneto (645) and Lombardy (577).
A total of 4,299,621 are discharged and healed in Italy (+6,086) and 137,039 are the current positives (+14).
