L’Italy made his entrance to the inaugural ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. A white tide that, guided flag bearer Jessica Rossi ed Elia Viviani, has “invaded” the stadium Olimpico and the particular uniform worn by the Italian athletes did not go unnoticed.

A white jumpsuit with, in the center, the tricolor in an unusual shape. The suit of the Italian team was made by Giorgio Armani, who has already dressed the athletes at the Olympics London 2012 e Rio 2016 and the winter ones of Sochi 2014 e Pyeongchang 2018. It is a suit in recycled shiny tricot polyester, composed of an open-bottomed track top, closed on the front, raglan sleeves, a raised collar with a crater shape with a hidden side zip.
Not surprisingly, even the choice of colors: white is a tribute to the host country, the Japan, and as a sign of the purity of sport. The second tribute also concerns the graphics of the flag, which represents the union between the tricolor of Italy and the Japanese Rising Sun, symbols of two distant worlds united by the same values. Inside the jacket is the intro of the national anthem.

“After the great satisfactions that our athletes have recently given us, I will follow the Olympics with great interest and pride – he declared. Giorgio Armani -. I am very happy with this renewed collaboration which confirms my strong bond with sport ”.
