The Dolce & Gabbana testimonial model for the Light Blue perfume. In Capri on the set of the campaign with David Gandy he told himself: Italy, Los Angeles and the family

Return to the island. The magical Capri, setting and inspiration for the love story between David Gandy and Bianca Balti, a close-knit couple once again protagonist of the new campaign of the historic and beloved line of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue fragrances. A new chapter is added to the narrative of Italian summers expertly “distilled” in the two versions of Light Blue, the women’s and men’s fragrances. Both identified by great success, linked to their respective mix of ingredients. Light Blue embodies the casual femininity, a fragrance for women expressed by the perfect encounter between the notes of granny smith apple, then emphasized by jasmine and white rose. Light Blue pour Homme is instead aimed at an adventurous and contemporary man: it is revealed by a very fresh cocktail of Italian bergamot, grapefruit and Sicilian mandarin, made even more sensual by the presence of incense and musks. A succession of suggestions and emotions, of professional memories and private moments. Those of David Gandy and Bianca Balti, the two beloved models protagonists of the catwalks returned to work together in the shadow of the Faraglioni where they met on the set of the previous campaign. Then to divide them pandemic and lockdown. An experience that Bianca Balti tells in this interview

In the atmosphere of Capri, the model Bianca Balti, before taking on the role of protagonist-testimonial among Mediterranean scents, clear and blue waters, tells that her iconic couple is always Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin. They characterized an era ”. Bianca Balti returned to Italy after a long period, to immerse herself in another episode of the love story of Light Blue, the iconic fragrance by Dolce & Gabbana. As always, it is a joy – he says -. It was an opportunity to find my family again. I have to admit I was lucky, I was able to come back already in 2020, in the summer, and it was so exciting. One had the impression of living in a condition of “survivors”. As far as I’m concerned, this pandemic has made me rediscover more than ever the sense of family, of the origins and of the importance of life. The feelings were amplified. Then I am aware of having lived this moment in a privileged condition. What we went through was such an intense experience, also because it is global. The world has stopped. We have been pushed to review life’s priorities.

Now the past behind. A few years ago – adds Balti – I decided not to get involved in what was happening in the world because it made me feel bad. Today I have attention and care for what is happening around me, I cannot do without it. What have I left behind? The idea of living without caring for others. I try every day to live in the present and I’m happy with it. No.I have no expectations because I have discovered that beauty is in the present. It was one of the gifts I received after more than a year of forced meditation.

On the island where I’m lucky enough to be David’s lover for the duration of the shoot, the model jokes, Balti has rediscovered the pleasure of Italian habits. Sometimes I miss them – he explains – but after all, living in Los Angeles has always been my dream, ever since I was a child. I was fascinated by the California that I discovered in the movies. It is a very open city, evolved from a social point of view. In my opinion the perfect place to raise children in the name of an anti-racist, anti-homophobic culture. I recreated an overseas Italian family, with many friends. I can say that our feeling about origins has become even more intense and genuine, to the point of being proud of it.

Capri also passion, romantic getaway. They seem sealed topics from this difficult period. Precisely for this reason – adds the model – today the most important topic is ever. I find the message of Dolce & Gabbana significant, which celebrates the passion that comes from love without conventions of gender or age. Passion has a universal language. How do you imagine the escape of two lovers to Capri today? Mah .. aged a year but rejuvenated in passion, with the emotion of kids.
