The incredible prophecy of a fan, who 8 years ago wrote on twitter how the final would end. The tweet went viral
No one could have imagined such a prophecy. An almost surreal story comes from England, from a national team fan of coach Gareth Southgate. That eight years ago, in 2013, he wrote on his Twitter profile: England just lost the Euro 2020 final against Italy on penalties, so nothing changed. The obvious reference: the 11-meter curse of His Majest’s national team, which was defeated several times in major international tournaments precisely in the decisive sequence of penalties. As the England coach remembers well, who in 1996 – in the home European Championships – missed the decisive penalty against Germany, then champion.
The sensational thing is that this message was posted on February 22, 2013, when it was impossible to really imagine such a thing. Perhaps hurt by the defeat he had suffered a few months earlier at Euro 2012 (June 24th). Right against Italy, right on penalties. Many on social media have joked about gufata and wicked prophecy. The English fan in question, a certain Cameron, remembered him very well – even though a few years had passed – to the point of posting a desperate reply to his previous message on Sunday afternoon, deleting he lost and replacing it with won. But there was nothing to be done: so the tweet went viral and below were the comments of those who at that point asked the fan everything. And who knows if now they will come true.
