Strong storm for about ten minutes over the city of Milano. Strong winds, hail and torrential rains hit the city, as predicted by forecasters. In particular, in the area Rozzano, the hail destroyed cars and damaged trees with fallen branches on the road.
According to ARPA forecasts, heavy showers and gusts of wind – with the possibility of a tornado – will continue until evening.
There have been floods in various areas of the city and there are numerous unsafe trees and plants that have fallen after the violent storm and the hailstorm that struck in the southern area of Milan and in the municipalities of the hinterland, in particular in Rozzano. The firefighters are at work with interventions on various fronts to secure citizenship. At the moment no injuries are reported.
The wave of bad weather that affected the west of Lombardy in the early afternoon of today also affected the province of Pavia and also brought rain and a short hailstorm to Milan. The most exposed area was that of Lomellina, on the border with Piedmont, where there was a violent storm. In Ottobiano (Pavia) lightning struck the roof of a farmhouse. There was a hailstorm near Cassolnovo (Pavia). Numerous interventions by the fire brigade, still in progress.
In Pavia there was no rainfall, but the city was hit by violent gusts of wind that also sent umbrellas, tables and chairs of the bars in the historic center fly. At the moment no consequences for people are reported. Until 3 am next night, the Civil Protection issued a “moderate orange” alert for Pavia and its province.
