A trip with a group of friends who met every Wednesday to go hiking in the mountains. They were now descending from Mount Chersogno, the top of the upper Val Maira (3,026 meters) above Prazzo, when he fell ill and lost consciousness. Immediate help was given by the excursion companions, then by the medical team of the “118” who intervened with the helicopter. Vain attempts at resuscitation. He most likely died of a heart attack Aldo Aimar, 75, retired and historic baker from Busca.

The death today (Wednesday 7 July), around 11.30. The body was recovered and transferred by the Alpine Rescue technicians in San Michele di Prazzo, then to the mortuary in the Cuneo cemetery. Originally from the Bosco di Busca hamlet, Aldo Aimar started working at the age of 13, as an apprentice in various bakeries in Busca. Having learned the trade, after the marriage with Mrs. Elsa, together in 1968 they had opened a bakery in via Umberto I, in the city center, near the church of the Rossa. Having closed the business in 2003, Aimar had rediscovered his passion for the mountains. In Busca he was well known and esteemed also for his long and constant commitment in the world of volunteering, in particular for the San Vincenzo association and the Red Cross.

“I am very sorry and I extend my deepest condolences to the family – he says the mayor Marco Gallo -. Aldo was not only an excellent baker, but a good, honest, very helpful and selfless person. An example also for the high civic sense and generosity ». In addition to his wife, Aimar leaves behind his son Alberto (owner of an auto practice agency) and five brothers. The date for the funeral has not yet been set.
