Rome, 3 July 2021 – Two children died in the afternoon and two others were injured in the collapse of the roof of an old building they were playing on. The accident occurred in the locality of Malga Preta, along the provincial road 12 in the municipality of Sant’Anna d’Alfaedo, in the Verona area towards the border with Trentino. The accident occurred in a particularly inaccessible area of ​​Lessinia. The firefighters, the carabinieri and the teams of the Alpine Rescue and the Speleo Rescue of Verona intervened on the spot.

According to initial information, the alarm was raised around 4 pm: i four children, who are all about 7 years old, they were playing on the roof of an old ice chest that he gave in. Further details of the tragedy have been reconstructed but the information remains fragmentary: the group of bambani was playing on the roof of an old woman partly underground icebox, therefore a few tens of centimeters above ground level. To have been fatal it would have been, in addition to the fall of about 3 meters, the collapse of part of a wall of the old building: some ice sheets they fell on the children along with the debris from the roof.

They are not in danger of life the other two children injured in the accident cost the lives of two peers with whom they were playing near Malga Preta. The two victims have both 7 years and they lived in Verona. The two injured children are respectively 6 and 7 years old and were hospitalized atVerona hospital cwith several fractures but are not in serious condition.
