The search for two women, a 32-year-old and a 28-year-old of Moroccan origins, dispersed in the fields, began yesterday in the San Giuliano Milanese area. The alarm was raised by one of them who called 112 saying she was in a corn field with a dead friend, after both had been hit by a combine harvester, adding that she was seriously injured.

The searches

The Carabinieri of the Compagnia di San Donato Milanese immediately started the research also with the 118 helicopters and the 2nd Carabinieri Helicopters Unit of Orio al Serio in the area where the woman’s cell phone had been located or, in via Toscana in San Giuliano Milanese in the open countryside. The Lodi prosecutor’s office was also alerted to the location of the phone which was not found and turned off. They also asked the Prefecture of Milan to activate the search plan for missing persons, in which the Carabinieri of the territorial and 3rd Regiment “Lombardia”, the Fire Brigade, with some dog units, and the Civil Protection participate. The investigations made it possible to identify the two women: the 28-year-old had not yet been reported missing. Family members have been notified.
