We start today with a team time trial from Fossano to Cuneo: ten stages until Sunday 11 with arrival in Cormons
Today the 32nd Giro d’Italia Women starts and until Sunday 11th it will cover all of Northern Italy, from west to east, touching Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. In total, over the ten stages, 1,022 kilometers will be covered which will eventually deliver the pink jersey in 2020 to Dutch Anna Van der Breggen, present again this time and among the big favorites. The field of participation (144 athletes of 24 teams, including 9 World Tour) is excellent and also includes Amanda Spratt, Lucinda Brand, Marianne Vos and our Elisa Longo Borghini, Elena Cecchini, Tatiana Guderzo, Marta Bastianelli and Letizia Borghesi. It starts with a team time trial of 26.7 kilometers from Fossano to Cuneo. The grand finale (113 km) on Sunday 11th from Capriva del Friuli to Cormòns. About 450 people will move from one stage to another, including members of the organization, entourage and athletes, all welcomed in a renovated stage district, with covid-free areas thanks to the use of bioreactors to purify the air, large screens, entertainment music for the public, two trucks with glass panels for the jury and for the organization and a new multimedia podium, where the athletes who have conquered the 5 jerseys of the Giro every day will be awarded: Rosa, Ciclamino (points), Green ( GPM), Bianca (young), Azzurra (Individual on time).
